Attention Ladies!
On Sunday, February 16, 2025, the Mattapoisett Police Department, in collaboration with South Coast Self Defense, will be hosting a free, two-hour women’s-only self-defense seminar for women ages 15 and older.
This beginner-friendly seminar will focus on the most common threats faced by women and teach practical self-defense techniques to enhance personal safety.
While this event is free, donations are suggested, with all proceeds benefiting The Women’s Center of New Bedford.
The seminar will be led by David Eaton of South Coast Self Defense, whose training blends hands-on self-defense techniques with situational awareness, decision-making under stress, and recognizing pre-fight indicators to help participants avoid dangerous situations.
