🌿 Another Great Cleanup at Turner Pond! 🌿
A huge thank you to our sponsor, South Coast Self Defense, and our incredible team of 16 volunteers who came together this past Saturday to make a difference! We collected nearly 800 pounds of trash and debris, including 13 bags of trash, tires, a car seat, a refrigerator, a TV, and more.
In addition to the cleanup, the team worked hard to cut back Autumn Olive, an invasive species threatening the pond’s ecosystem. Special thanks to New Bedford Conservation Agent Chancery Perks for helping identify critical areas and to Lorene Sweeney for her extra efforts in removing invasive species.
🌎 This is the power of community! When just three organizations work together, we can create a lasting impact. Turner Pond is looking better than ever, and we couldn’t have done it without our dedicated volunteers.
